Pause face unlock before making the change

In General, turn off Enable Face Unlock while updating credentials. If settings show Session locked, use Unlock session when available, or quit Lunlo and continue with normal macOS password entry.

Change the actual Mac login password through macOS first. Apple's login-password instructions describe that separate operation. Lunlo's password screen does not change your macOS account password.

Use Change in the Password tab

Open Password and authorize the local session if prompted. Under Change password, select Change. Enter the current Mac login password in the app's password field and select Confirm.

This flow encrypts and replaces Lunlo's saved copy. It does not ask for your email-account password or change the email link used to sign in to Lunlo. Keep the Mac password inside the native app.

A successful save does not test the password

The save path checks that the entry is nonempty, authorizes the local vault and writes the encrypted value. It does not validate that value against a macOS login. A typo can therefore be saved successfully.

Confirm that the new password works through normal macOS authentication. If a later Lunlo attempt leaves the Mac locked, enter the password manually and inspect the saved entry rather than repeatedly retrying face unlock.

Changing a password does not require deleting faces

The password-only Change flow leaves existing enrollment in place. Remove password has a broader purpose: it attempts to remove enrollment as well as the saved credential and its local encryption key.

Use Change for a routine password update. Read removing Lunlo data before choosing Remove, and local face data before manually altering storage files or Keychain entries.

Account access and password recovery are separate

An account or internet error is not evidence that the saved Mac password is wrong. Conversely, an active subscription cannot correct an outdated password. Use the connection guide to distinguish those cases.

If you no longer know your Mac password, use Apple's account-recovery guidance. Lunlo does not reveal the saved password through this screen and does not provide a replacement for macOS recovery.
